The menu reads like a love letter to traditional American breakfast and comfort food. Whether you’re dropping in for a classic Country Benedict, deciding between the fluffy stacks of Pancakes and Scrambled Eggs with Bacon, or indulging in hand-cut fries alongside a savory French Dip, Jake’s Cafe on 2nd Street delivers a timeless taste of Americana with heart and soul. Large portions! Great little dinner diner, decor! Friendly, fast service!
Our go to spot in bed a week! Huge portions so we always share. Food has always been amazing and correct. Veggies are packed in to a perfectly cooked omelette. Service is a little rough sometimes. It’s not easy work so I get it. See you next week!
We went during the weekday and it was really good. Classic old school diner-priced have increased recently but to be expected given the cost of everything going around. The coffee isn’t fancy but it meets the mark. In addition the food is fresh and well flavorful. I was impressed by the hashbrowns!
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh coffee and sizzling bacon, promising a hearty start to your day. The menu is a well-curated homage to classic American breakfast staples. The pancakes are a standout, huge , perfectly fluffy and served with a generous helping of maple syrup. For those with a savory palate, the bacon and eggs are cooked to perfection, with crispy edges and just the right amount of seasoning. The hash browns are golden and crispy, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. One of the highlights of this place is Omelets that are consist of 8-10 Eggs!. The service is another aspect .The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your coffee cup is never empty and your needs are promptly met. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a touch of vintage charm that adds to the overall experience.
It's about starting out the day with a good breakfast especially when you're traveling. We found such a place in this unassuming exterior that opens up to a little place hiding meals that has GreatGrandma in the back cooking. The sausage looked homemade (yummy) and later heard a conversation that confirmed our thoughts (the sausage indeed was made locally).
One of my favorite places on earth. Old school diner feel, fresh, delicious food, big portions and fantastic service. If I was a billionaire, I would eat breakfast here every day...! Shout-out to Lindsey and Tracy for their hospitality and 5-star service today!
Greeted quickly, open sitting at the time we came. Menus are at the table. Your typical diner experience. I got Bacon Cheeseburger and a side of onions rings, both were the top of ones I’ve ever had. My husband got the Donna burger(grilled onion, bacon, lettuce and tomato), he rates it 5/5. Large portion of sides. The regular fries were very good, reminded me of fair fries.
